Mathieu Dubois is 39 years old and lives in Moulins in the Allier department. Before 2021, he was an ordinary, healthy man with his whole life ahead of him. After receiving his COVID vaccine, he developed small fiber neuropathy and myalgic encephalomyelitis—two debilitating conditions that would change the course of his life. But instead of staying silent, he chose to fight. And to fight not just for himself, but for the 1,110 people who have joined him in this struggle.

On December 27, 2022, along with Mélanie Maupas and her father Alain, he founded the AAVIC Team—the Association of Direct and/or Indirect Victims of COVID-19. He became its president. Within a few months, the association grew from a few dozen to several hundred, then to more than a thousand members, spread throughout France and its overseas departments and territories. Every member has a story of suffering. Every phone call he answers represents a shattered life seeking to be heard.

“I’ve spoken with more than 800 victims on the phone. It’s an incredible amount of suffering.” This figure, which he cited before the Minister of Health, says it all. Mathieu Dubois isn’t involved in politics. He gathers people’s stories. He passes them on to the authorities. He appears before the ANSM, before Parliament, before the cameras of France 3—not as an ideological activist, but as the voice of people whom the system would prefer not to hear.

Mathieu Dubois himself suffers from small-fiber neuropathy and myalgic encephalomyelitis, both of which developed after his COVID vaccine. These two conditions—one progressively destroying nerve fibers, the other causing profound and debilitating fatigue—have forced him to completely rethink his life. 

It is from this state of illness that he chairs the association, answers the phones, travels to the field, and speaks before institutions. He does not speak on behalf of the victims from the outside—he speaks from the inside.

AAVIC Team — The Association
Association of Direct and/or Indirect Victims of COVID-19

The AAVIC Team association was founded on December 27, 2022, by Mélanie Maupas, Alain Maupas, and Mathieu Dubois, and registered with the Allier Prefecture. It works with doctors and lawyers, conducts awareness-raising activities in the field, and builds relationships with elected officials.

Its mission: To bring people together, inform, facilitate dialogue, and provide psychological and legal support and guidance. To secure official recognition and appropriate medical assistance for each victim.

The association is supported by Senator Laurence Muller-Bronn (godmother to Mathieu Dubois) and Representative Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, and benefits from the support of singer Samaha Sam of the band Shaka Ponk as the association’s official patron. Membership costs €10 for life and entitles members to a 66% tax deduction on donations.

Actions Taken
From the Grassroots to Institutions—A Fight on All Fronts

Mathieu Dubois and the AAVIC Team are not staying in the shadows. They are taking action, speaking out, and amplifying the voices of victims where institutions would prefer not to hear them:

— Before the ANSM (March 13, 2025), alongside Verity France, Où est mon cycle, VIAC19, On a eu not' dose, with Prof. Perronne and several doctors. Mathieu Dubois directly addressed the agency: “Ladies and gentlemen of the ANSM, we were there; you didn’t see us, but I can tell you that we won’t forget you. ”

— At the National Assembly, where we met with members of parliament, including Nicolas Dupont-Aignan. A meeting with the Minister of Health had been scheduled but was canceled due to the dissolution of the National Assembly.

— At the office of Health Minister Stéphanie Rist, with Julia Walter and Alain Maupas, for a debriefing on the victims’ medical odyssey.

— On France 3 (Rhône-Alpes Auvergne, September 2024; Champagne-Ardenne, October 2025) — interviewed regularly by regional stations.

— At the trial of Michel Procureur at the La Roche-sur-Yon courthouse, where he testified alongside the doctor charged with medical malpractice during the COVID pandemic.

— National Day on May 10, 2025 — participation in the first day of support for victims of COVID vaccines, organized throughout France.
